5.25 icons on desktop

I have some vague memory of moving/deleting/disabling something from
the OS6 folder so that only ONE 5.25 icon would show up on my desktop.
- I think the GS kept polling the other drive all the time very
annoying.
Anyway now I need to 'restore' that icon - can anyone give me a clue?
