Bruce, do a web search for "GEOS" or "GeoWorks." The publisher
has gone out of business and the rights have now fallen into the
hands of some users group. They are basically interested in the
PC version, but the Commodore people bugged them enough that they
gave some C64 group the right to sell the C64 and C128 versions.
We should try to do the same.
GEOS, BTW, is the ideal OS for a GS with 512K and one 800K drive
because there is enough memory, a mouse, and a drive that can
carry the key programs, and it can print sharp text and graphics
to laser printers. The OS will run on a 128K IIe with a 5.25"
drive, but it is DOG SLOW this way and trying to use a joystick
as a mouse is a nightmare.
GEOS = substitute OS for the GS that is underequipped for GS/OS.
