I suspect "YB Teacher" was trying to read high density Macintosh 3.5"
disks.
This will not work unless you have a disk drive and controller card
which can support high density disks. The standard IIgs 3.5" drive does
not, and neither does the built-in disk controller.
The HFS FST certainly works fine with 1.44MB (high density) disks as
long as you have the right hardware.
