   And the post I wrote earlier in this thread, but was trimmed a bit
in followups before you got to it specifically mentioned the need for
a serial <-> parallel converter (yes, these did exist and were sold
specifically for the //c and other computers in the same boat) to use
with parallel printers. Lack of slots is not particularly a problem
when the builtin serial ports and an external device can provide
pretty much the same functionality.
