cturley@wco.com replies:

I tried to reconfirm my original information by return calls to the
Order Center, as before...
and had no luck. Each time I called back to the tool-free number
(I mentioned in the original post) I'd get a different person and
a different story, refering me to another number and/or dept.
Looks like I really jumped the gun on the original post without
the proper proof to back it up. I hope you can get conclusive PROOF
that it's a freeware and if not that you can arrange for it to be
classified as such.

"Note to Charles Turley -- I want to believe this (and you), I really
do. It would make it easier to verify if you would post the name and
extension of the person you spoke with."

And, do you have a _written_ confirmation? I would want one, from
someone fairly high up.

cturley@wco.com continues with reply: I trust you can believe me, as what
I posted was true and correct, according to what I was told by the rep.
from the Order Center of Corel. But, little good it does with no name to
back up the original authorizations from the Order Center rep. No, name
was furnished and no written confirmation either was obtained. Like I
said, I took the word of some rep. as being a final authorization, and
should not have done so.

Sorry for any confusion or problems caused with my original post. I assure
everybody my intentions were only good with this effort and I hope all of
the others that can obtain conclusive proof of the status and/or actually
provide some method to make it's release as freeware legal and swift, will
do so! I've done all I care to with the matter.

BTW - I don't intend to take Mr. Nathan Mates challenge, dare, comments and
demands with any seriousness! He's simply got to much animosity and hate in
him - towards me with respect to anything I do, for me to respond to his thread
on the original post with any seriousness. Nathan, I'll simple say I was in
error and let's leave it at that!

"Note to all -- If I find out that no one has heard of this at Corel, I
will proceed to try to bring it to pass. After all, it would make
sense for them to engender some good will AND get persons using their
file format, small though our numbers may be."

cturley@wco.com concludes with reply to Bruce Maples: Bruce, I do hope you
are successful with your efforts to varify and/or obtain valid and proper
confirmation that WP for the II and IIGS can be freewares and distributed as such.
Please email me with any copies you obtain of such confirmation and thank
you very much for your efforts and help with these matters.

Sincerely,
Tom
