Sort of. Apple DOS 3.3 has been patched several times and there have been
a couple of maintenance releases. I think the latest version was released
at the same time as the ][e...the biggest change is that during the boot
process it shuts off the 80-column firmware in a ][e. But I don't think
there has been a reassembly since the initial Version 3.3 release, so all
of the variations are considered DOS 3.3. Furthermore, there are patched
DOS products out there (Pronto-DOS comes to mind) which for all intents
and purposes are still DOS 3.3, though they are not the same as the DOS
3.3 that you will find on a System Master.
: How about ProDOS 8?
: How about ProDOS 16 (is there even such)?
There is, but it has been replaced with GS/OS.
: How about GS/OS?
Latest version is 6.0.1 and is available (among other places) from
ftp.apple.com and support.apple.com.
: Where can one still get Apple DOS 3.3 (or whatever the latest version is)?
Well...the easiest way is to find a recent disk formatted under 3.3, since
there is a copy on every bootable 3.3 disk. I think DOS 3.3 is officially
"orphanware" now...
