There's no way to optimize or repair HFS disks on the GS, yes.  From
what I've heard about HFS directory structure, though, you'll need
a doctoral degree in CS, Math, and Psychology before you'll even start
on the project.  :-)

Lots of interest, if you can do it, especially for the disk repair.
