If you boot with a DOS 3.3 disk, you can format DOS 3.3 disks directly from 
the AppleSoft prompt  ]  by typing INIT HELLO and it will save whatever 
BASIC program you currently have in memory as the startup program.
 
With ProDOS, you must use a utility to format ProDOS disks:  One comes with 
FILER on the ProDOS utilities disk, but the commercial program Copy II Plus 
is much more convenient to format with.
