I believe that Rubywand has a FAQ on disk drives (maybe monitors?). My
FAQ folder doesn't show it (shame on me), however, give a shot at the

My advice on the subject is to NEVER, EVER grease anyting. Clean the
head, plastic concentric disk, and the rails the head moves back and
forth on with alchol (sp?). "If it squeeks its clean."
