   Yes, Orca/C, sold by The Byte Works will run on GSs, though you'll
probably need at least 1.5MB of RAM and 2 800K 3.5" disks (HDs are a
big help also) to run it. No C++ compiler at this time.

   Not directly (it's still in beta), but you can have a serial
(modem/null modem) connection to a unix box and run stuff from there
just fine. [Life on the internet *did* exist before TCP/IP and
graphical web browsers, despite what a lot of people would like to
think]

readable from a GS or other Apple II with the setup I described above.
