You need to select the sound blaster in the ApplePC config menu - sound option
first and then on the main menu of U4 will display a option Activate Mocking Board,
you can select this option and use default setting is ok, I remember U3 also use
same selection, but you need to get the mocking board version for U3 (Asimov have
two version of U3).

It is just simulate, so you can choose slot 4 is ok when the other program ask you
the slot of Mocking Board.
