    Actually, Convert 3200 _does_ export large APF images to other 
formats. I asked Olivier whether a future update would support this,
and he told me it already did! :) All it requires is that you select
'None' from the 'Convert Area' option menu.

    You can export the large APF image as BMP, PCX or TIFF format.
I did a quick test and it seemed to work (the only thing was it
turned a 43K APF into a 154K when converted into BMP format, though
I'm not familiar enough with that format to know whether that size
is normal. Exporting to JPEG format would be nice ;).
