There's a label underneath that will identify the drive type.

For a "quickie" visual identification, I look at the "line" fromed by
the disk slot on the front face. If it's clean all the way across, it's
an AppleDisk drive. If it's "cut" at the left and right (the eject button
and led are a bit higher) then it's a Unidisk drive.
