"Freeware" is an awfully vague term. If the software is copyrighted -
as the Beagle Bros stuff is - the copyright owner has every right to
limit distribution in whatever way they feel like. If the software
has been placed in the public domain - something that can either be
done by the copyright holder, or through expiration of the copyright,
then anyone can do whatever they want with it.
When you say "the Beagle Oldies archives that are freeware", what
exactly does your usage of the word "freeware" mean?
