That will be true if there is significant buffering on the card.
(Otherwise, the USB interface itself is not sufficiently real-time
capable to write an Apple disk.)
Unless it is a super-dense type of disk, we should be able to write
anything. You're right that you need buffering since the nature of the
USB protocol is unpredicable, but we do indeed do that on KryoFlux.
It's actually easier to transfer data for writing than it is for
reading (because you don't know in advance what your going to get).
Of course, having said all that, we can't say when writing support
will be implemented, so I wouldn't buy it until we've completed that
work if writing is your primary motivation. :)
