This specific company was, of course, the Apple records company, the one 
which produced many of the Beatles albums.  As I hear it, the agreement 
was that Apple Computer could use the name as long as the didn't add any 
recording capabilities to their computers. (Don't know where the big fuss 
came about with the speakers). In any case, when Apple came out with its 
first computers and system software which could record sound (Mac II? 
Help me out here folks), it added the familar (to those who use Macs or 
GSOS) system sound, Sosumi [So-sue-me].  Interesting story, no?
