I doubt it. Do you have the cassette card for an Apple I? might be worth
something, esp. to someon who has an Apple I!
The cassette port hardware on an Apple II/II+/IIe motherboard can't be too
complex. Is it possible to simply replicate that hardware on a card and
drop it in a slot? Or would it be impossible to address the card as if it
was actually motherboard hardware?
What about firmware? I thought the cassette port firmware was dumped from
the Apple II ROM's when the IIc came out, in an attempt to make space.
Since the IIgs is later, I doubt the support is in its ROMs either.
Maybe it would be possible to capture data via a sound digitizer card in a
IIgs? I've tried to use my Macintosh as a virtual tape drive from a IIe,
but it didn't work.
Question: Was there ever a utility that ran under DOS or ProDOS that
allowed you to copy your files from a tape to a floppy? I can imagine it
would have been usefull for early adopters of the II when they finally got
their Disk ]['s.
