If you are having the same problem with two different cards in the same
IIe, I would suspect the IIe power supply or the IIe itself. I would
try another IIe or another slot in the original IIe. Are you putting the
same "extra" chips into both cards? If yes, then I would suspect bad
chips. Try putting the extra chips into the first bank of one card and
run the test software. If the card tests okay then the two sets of
chips are good (and can be left in place).

The jumpers are to direct power from the computer bus to the memory
board. The jumpers are removed when an external power supply (a
RamCharger) is connected to the RamFactor. Once the external power is
attached and powered up, the RamFactor will hold the contents of
RamDisk(s) even when the computer is turned off. The batteries in the
RamCharger prevent the loss of the RamDisk information even if a
moderate duration AC power loss takes place. If such a loss is very
long, the batteries eventually lose power and the ramdisk contents are
lost.
