Unfortunately Lynx (not links) is built into the freenet as the default browser and comes up instanly upon logging in. I have access to a shell (not available to the regular user) as well but I like to see the lowest common denominator remain the norm to keep things good for all legacy system users confined to the default browser. If other sites can do it, so can this one.
