Asimov, like the other FTP sites I've been in with my shell account,
will decompress .GZ files FOR YOU. Just leave the ".GZ" off. In this
example, I am retrieving Wizard's Workbench, a shareware Wizardry
editor:

get wizards_workbench.dsk

The filename in the directory is wizards_workbench.dsk.gz. Voila!
Asimov sends me the desired 140K disk image. There's a couple
programs for Apple //s with large (like, over 140K) storage devices
that convert .DSK files to regular disks, and back. At least I think
so, I've never had to try it. The images may also be compatible with
Copy ][+ 7.1. For more info, drop by comp.emulators.apple2 :)
