A friend did something similar by accident.
He had two Macs connected by localtalk and a string of SCSI Units
between the Macs connected to both Macs by accident.
He copied a large file from one Mac to the other and was quite
astonished at the speed, it was much faster than localtalk.
When he realized his mistake, he experimented a bit. Each Mac could see
his own internal harddisk and all devices between the macs. A file
copied by one Mac did not show on the other Mac until he did a find
file.
He never tried to access the SCSI chain with both Macs at the same time.
