   Everyone, repeate after me:

   THE ADS ARE MISLEADING! YOU NEED SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE TO DO SUCH
A THING.

   Software alone won't make any lights in your house turn on and off
unless it uses some very complicated algorithms in making RF signals
with processor clock patterns and you leave your computer's case
off. You'd still need some external hardware to actually control the
lights. As I said in my earlier posts, this sounds like a X.10 setup,
which not coincidentally, is software and hardware.

   That or the Aptiva's software puts out subliminal messages saying
"you will go and turn off the light without remembering it" :)
