Microsoft would be insulted! 32MB is not nearly enough RAM to drown
their bloated code.
Evidently, something about plugging in a 20MHZ/ 32MB sytem is
confusing. It is because the GS cannot support more than 8MB RAM and the
fact that this RAM runs on such a low-speed bus that a separate system is
necessary. (Besides, the GS does not fully support even 8MB.)
32MB RAM is a low-cost item which allows room for large applications
which employ SVGA-class graphics and high-quality sound. Still, the New GS
board might have a 'Wimp' switch to permit installing 4k banks of 21L02's
to help ease RAM-shy users into modern computing.

Fair enough. So, we start with 512k of FlashRAM. Even if this means
developers will not get full credit, it will be large enough for a decent
base operating system which can easily be updated.
