   Given that the 65816 can address 16MB of memory total, this is a
waste.

   "What we need" is a dangerous statement. Do you? Doubtful. If you
really want it, go make it yourself, rather than blanket statements
telling others that you need something, and hoping that they'll
just give it to you.
