The IWII will work great with a GS, first of all.

Second, look carefully at your top margin settings. I noticed that on my
copy of AppleWorks (sorry; not sure of the version), the default setting
is a 0" top margin and a 2.0" bottom margin. This is because the program
assumes that you won't have the paper properly positioned in the printer.
If you put pin-feed paper on the tractors and press *FORM FEED*, the paper
will roll up until the top line is just below the print head. If the
paper is in this position, then set your AppleWorks margins to the size
you really want. Or, press LINE FEED six times, then power-cycle the
printer and use the standard margins.

As for spreadsheets...are these wide documents? Perhaps your lines are
getting prematurely wrapped. Do you do a lot of Applesoft programming; do
you use your printer for printing BASIC listings? If you do, then you
probably have your line length set to force the printer to advance at the
end of the line; otherwise, Applesoft won't force a line break, and
program lines wider than 80 characters will get over-printed.

: Question: What is the best ConTrolPanel setting?

Well, here are my Control Panel settings:

Device Connected: Printer
Line Length: Unlimited
Delete first LF after CR: No
Add LF after CR: Yes
Echo: No
Buffering: No
Baud Rate: 9600
Data/Stop Bits: 8/1
Parity: None
DCD Handshake: Yes
DSR/DTR Handshake: Yes
XON/XOFF Handshake: No

: I have no problem using Epson Spectrum LX-80 and identical AplWorks Print options
: Thanks.

See if that helps. If it doesn't can you be more specific about your problem?
