I assume you mean el-cheapo brand-X models? I've tried the Apple
ColorMonitors for the //e and //c, and they (IMNSHO) are great. They
have a monochrome button on the front, but the only time you need it
is when you're using B&W DHR programs. AppleWorks looks exactly the
same (only it's white, not green) on mono monitors as it does on these
Apple monitors.
