It's because the Thunderclock, which all slot type clocks emulate since it's
the one the ProDOS driver supports, doesn't supply the year. So ProDOS uses
a table to calculate the year based on the day of the week. The table's only
good for seven years, so you need to patch it every seven years. There used to
be an Applesoft program on ftp.apple.com for this, but I ain't been on there
for a good long time. Of course, this problem doesn't exist on the IIgs since
the clock driver in ProDOS 8 1.2 and up reads the year from the IIgs clock.
