If you're asking 33.6k vs. 28.8k, the speed difference is almost
negligible.  If you purchased a good modem, it should have flash-ROM's
which you can use to upgrade a 28.8k to 33.4k by running an updater on
a friends IBM or Mac.

I strongly reccomend the US Robotics v.Everything if you've got some
money lying around.  I've also heard very good things about the Supra
28.8k's (which can also be flashed to 33.4k).

But all this is moot if the phone lines in your area are not very
clean - you'd probably be stuck around 21.6k or so on bad days.
