I have the complete original manuals set for the IIGS - ROM 01 (1986) 
and I'd be happy to send it to your friend for FREE, should he still 
want and need them. Just have him send me a request by post card - snail 
mail - with his return address and I'll send them all off to him by 
return US Priority Mail Parcel.
