Matt,
Peter Brickell (p.brickell@genie.com) has been using several Apple ][+ for
driving external devices for practical uses. He has contributed articles
on this to several A2.GenieLamps in the last few months.
John L. Graham posts on csa2 occasionally about the ways he uses //es and
IIgs Apples for "high-resolution chromatography, time-resolved
spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis."

Mike Westerfield of Byteworks has been experimenting lately with robotics
and took a GS-driven robot to the '96 KansasFest. (byteworks@genie.com)

Vernier Software is a source for books and hardware, too, I believe, but
books for sure for projects driven by Apple IIs.
