Well, if I understand the question correctly, you want to take MIDI
sequence data and convert it into sheet music.  There are two programs
that will do this.  One of them is Pyware's Music Writer, which is
very comprehensive but is probably out of print.  The second one is
Music Composer 4.0, which has a sheet music interface.  Earlier versions
of Music Composer won't do, however, because they lack the sheet music
function.  Only the latest version, which is commercial ($45), does.

Music Composer 4.0 was seen on this month's Genielamp, but I don't
remember the contact info for buying it.  Can someone repost the press
release?

You will also need a GS music notation font.  I think one is included
in both the Music Writer and Music Composer.  A TrueType version with
Pointless will generate even better output.

Big Red had Activision's Music Studio.  It was a limited program and
not what you are looking for.  It does not read standard MIDI files
(but does have MIDI input) and can only handle four simultaneous notes.
