Re: Word Processor

Um, the only emacs I've seen is a programmer's word processor that lacks
fonts, sizes, styles, and colours of text. I was thinking something
closer to a "Teach" editor.

I was thinking of all the text in the currently selected GWIII _story_
appearing in the story editor window. As for formatting, there is no
reason that, say, the justification and indentation settings shouldn't be
retained as you go from one view (standard GWIII window) to another
(story editor). Closing the story editor window would cause the text to pour
into the already-defined chain of linked text areas in the GWIII window,
just as if it were being imported into a blank text regions.

I wouldn't like to be limited to selected text, since that means that I'd
have to move from page to page, extending or setting the limits of the
selection, in order to edit the whole story. You can already edit
selections quite efficiently in GWIII, IMHO. Zipping through a set of
linked text areas on different pages to edit a story is, however, less
efficient for me.
Let me stress - this is just an idea that I'm tossing out for discussion.
I doubt that it would be high on Seven Hills' list of changes for the next
GWIII.
