Steve Mentzer, know that I am really not one of that bureaucratic
black-and-white-seeing folks around here. Nevertheless, it has not been
necessary to make the original programs of Joe and all the other
honest vendors and programmers available on the WORLD-WIDE web, just
to prove something or just for a silly joke. If the only purpose of
this site was to annoy some of the Vogons on csa2, well I understand
that. But then a few fake programs with useless data would have done
the job, too.
Fact is: You offered NEW, easily available softs on the web and it is
pure luck if no damage was caused by your actions. Furthermore, there
is the psychological damage. With your actions, you have scared many
programmers and developers and perhaps you have backstabbed the Apple
II community with your deed. We need these guys.
Imagine that you have scared away Softdisk, for example. This magazine
still gives support for many programmers who are unable to market their
products on their own. If we lose Softdisk, the whole IIgs community
will suffer from this. If you want to pirate something, pirate something
which causes no harm to existing companies or vendors. Thanks!
