Re: I like the new Tiger Computer - from what I've seen

With respect to the Tiger Learning Computer - TLC (a 128k Apple IIe
clone designed computer), it has the ability built into it with both;
ser. and par. interfaces, as well as with the power supplied from the
ram cart slot, to allow virtually any standard external hardware device
connection - (with a custom built and properly designed interface cable)
such as; 5.25 and/or 3.5 disk drives, hard drives or any other external
hardware device that a real Apple IIe could handle and/or use. In theory
(and please correct me if I'm wrong) the properly designed and custom
built interface cables could be developed for use via the ram cart slot
to allow SCSI or IDE hard drives, with their cards - etc. I understand
it even supports a modem connection up to 9600 Baud - allowing Internet
access.

Everybody has been wishing for a new Apple II computer to be produced
for sales to the public. So, even as a IIe clone - from a third party
company, with the Apple II technology - lic. from Apple Computer, here
it is with the TLC.

Customized and properly designed interface cables for connecting your
standard external hardware devices are not that expensive or difficult
to develop and offer for sale to the public, for use with the TLC. Hint,
hint! :)

Additionally - from information I obtained in a tel-con with the TLC
manufacturer a few days ago - a limited number (around 20,000) have been
made available for retail sales from the J.C. Penny catalog, via mail
orders - at the price of $149.99. I'd venture to guess that if they sell
all of these - then they will be motivated to make even more available
for sale to the public via other retail outlets in the future.

Cheers,
Tom
