RE: What's to become of the Apple II?
It was pondered here recently about what will happen to
the poor Apple II once they are all "junked".
I heard something recently that Apple is allowing Mac clones.
As they don't seem to give a rat's *** about the II anymore,
I'm sure licensing the rights to the II would be no big trick-
why not a new breed of Apple IIs? Some up-and-coming entreprenuer
could build them. Hasn't there been talk of some kind of GS-X?
I think the concept could work well as a "resist the corporate giant"
theme. Kind of like "get out of your BMW and experience the simple
pleasure of a truck". But I don't have money or the ambition to pursue it :(.
I wonder how many II users, or people sympathetic to the concept there
really are? More than we here at the self-pitying cs-a2 would like
to think. People use WinDOZE 95 because there is no other option.
Well- it's a wonderful dream of mine- pulling a shiny new
Apple 4 out of the box. Oh, well. Bill Gates can only live so
long :)
