Just use a Null Modem Cable ( or a normal serial cable with a Null Modem
adapter), then use good ol' Proterm (with Zmodem) and anything you want on the
PC side (Telix/Procomm/Hyperterminal...ugh) and crank the baud rate up to 38400
or so and have a blast.

Can't be done that simply, you would need a phone line simulator to do that,
its much easier/cheaper to just use a Null modem (all that entails is a serial
cable with a couple of pins crossed, tx to rx etc.)
