: Evidently, some of the stuff which gets to popular ftp sites is
: corrupted in some way. This does not seem to happen very often. Caltech
: and Ground are very good resources which have supplied me with quite a few
: very useful wares-- all with no problem.
: One recent exception is Defender of the World. After downloading, the
: .shk file was run through GSHK to unpack the files. One of these was
: corrupted.
: Fortunately, it was a file named "DOTWINTRO.W"-- well, not all that
: fortunate, a better choice would have been the "SamplePics" folder.
: DOTWINTRO.W is a kind of instrument sounds file used by the intro song
: The rest of the files unpacked okay; and, the messed up wave file was
: replaced by swapping-in one used in the old DOTW non-playing demo (I think
: it's named "BREATHLESS.W") and renaming it. The Intro Song, at least,
: plays; and the game looks great! (Thanks, Apple2.Caltech!)

I've downloaded at least 2 dozen files from Caltech and when I try
unpacking them, my GS always gives me the same message - "this is not a GS
shrinkit file." How do you unarchive your files? Thanks
Sid.
