Nope.  news.uiowa.edu is the machine that handles news at UofIowa,
but my email addr is @blue.weeg.uiowa.edu .  Not the same address at
all and anything addr to @news.uiowa.edu never gets to me.  [Sure isolates
me from flames :-) ].  I don't know if this affects all newsreaders at
UofIowa, or only 'vn' which I use.  (vn is NOT a recommended newsreader
at UofIow, which is probably why the admins never fix it )
