Well, I already have an old Archive tape drive (250MB native), so I
won't buy a ZIP drive ... although the ZIP is admittedly nice :)

More expensive than DAT, yes. Hard to get, no.

Hmmm ... no fast seek support? Oh well ... backups are done at night
anyway :)

Not at all, I used to do tech support for DC6000, DC2000 and DAT tape
drives ... so you could say I'm biased. I'll take a tape over any
other means of backup any time.
