Neither look that bad (besides the dithering issue), although it would
get rather annoying after a while. but text clarity is one of my
issues and i think is just as (if not more) annoying then the
dithering issue. 

But in those pictures it seems like the 17" has less of the
dithering issue then the 15" does or it could be due to the
camera.

have you tried any games or demos or other programs (other then
running GSOS) to see how it all comes together or see if its a major
issue.
