Psion 3a question!
I realize that my Psion does not have an Apple logo anywhere on it, and
perhaps this doesn't belong here. But I'll check anyway...
I've had my Psion 3a palmtop computer for about a month now, and it's
great. Gives me the functionality of a laptop, since no A][ laptop
currently exists, only it is smaller and cheaper. Just today, I got the
serial link cable, and the software.
Of course, the software does me absolutely no good, since I have a IIgs,
not a Pee Cee. Except for the built-in communications software. That
should work just fine. Here's the set-up with my IIgs:
/--->Modem (now in use, so the sw. works!)
/
GS Modem Port-->Switch Box-<
\
\-(IW-I cable)->DB-25F/DB-9M adapter->Psion
I'm pretty sure the switch box works, though I had to disassemble it to
get the cables to actually connect to the jacks inside. I'm running
ANSITerm, with the high-speed modem port driver. But as I type on the GS,
I get nothing on the Psion. As I type on the Psion, I get nothing on the GS.
So, has anyone else tried to do this? Am I missing something? The cable
from the switch to the Psion is an ImageWriter I cable, connected to a
port adapter (DB-25F -> DB-9M) and the Psion cable has a female DB-9
designed to connect directly to the serial port on a PC.
Any advice welcome!
