At the 2010 edition of Stump the Experts, there were quite a few
mentions / references to our beloved Apple II. The experts questions
included:
Using an Apple CAT modem, how long would it take to transfer the iPhone
SDK 3.2 foundation libraries over Apple CAT Binary II?
That said, how would you store 3,2??,??? bytes on an Apple II computer
Then the experts had 2 devices that they wanted the audience to
identify. The first was the TV adapter switch from an Apple IIc (which
was incorrectly identified as an RF adapter.) The second was the AV
in/out dongle from a Video Overlay card.
It was great to see that there is still some love for the Apple II from
inside of Apple.
I happened to win a prize for a group effort to solve a "rebus" related
to the Newton, and I am not the proud owner of an Apple 2400 baud
modem. All I have to do now is figure out how to get the box back home.
