Yes, a software router... I'd originally discounted that, since you
need a Mac, but a low end Mac these days can be less expensive than
one of the hardware bridges... Good idea! I wonder if Apple's
LocalTalk Bridge would do it to...

Right, but, just like a Mac using "MacIP", the IP packets would be
wrapped in AppleTalk packets so they'd sail through - you'd just need
software on both ends to take care of the extra wrapper...
