To my knowledge, there isn't a 16-bit version of METAL. I've heard some
scuttlebutt that someone (or a group of someones) is writing a 16-bit version,
though. How true it is, I can't say.

But you can run METAL quite nicely on a GS. It comes with GS-specific memory
drivers and other things to let the GS make a difference. Very nice.
