Yes!  I remember Softalk!  In fact, I've got a whole box of them sitting
on my closet floor.  (Alas, it's not a complete run.)

Lotsa good stuff in there.  I still occasionally dig them out to look
something up, or to reread Bert Kersey's articles.  Sigh...I miss Bert
Kersey's articles, and Roger Wagner's articles, and Tom Weisshar's
articles...

Argh.  Now look what you've done--you've got me reminiscing about the good
ol' days.  I'm only 31--that's too young to reminisce about the good ol'
days.

But on the other hand, I guess the ol' days weren't always good.  Back then,
64K and lowercase were unheard-of luxuries, and lest anybody think flame
wars are limited to comp.sys.apple2, consider that when my family first
subscribed to Softalk in 1982, their letters column was raging with a
months-long flame war over the propriety of scantily-clad women in the ads
for Howardsoft's tax preparation software.
