Oh I do! Actually, I only ever saw one issue. It included a discussion
of how to write a 3D maze program, culminating in actually providing
the source code for simple one. It was written by a published software
writer. I think it was one of the founders of "H.A.L. Labs", creators
of Apple II games like "Super Taxman II".
It was a *fantastic* article for a high school computer geek to read.
It showed the thought processes behind developing the code. How to
start with the basic idea (a featureless corridor) and then add
enhancements (doors, subtending passages).
Pick up any computer mag today, and all you get is 100s of pages of
advertisements, and half as many pages of "articles" on the subject
of "why you should buy all the things being advertised here". Yawn.
I don't suppose Softalk back issues are available electronically?
