Re: Apple IIc dumb terminal

Does anyone have any information about connecting a IIc to another
(perferably linux-based) computer as a dumb terminal? Thanks

I've done it with an Apple 2gs and a Linux box. It's pretty simple. First,
you need a null modem cable with an apple2gs-style serial plug on
one end, and a 9 or 25 pin (whichever) plug for the PC. You need to
configure the Linux box for a dumb terminal on the serial port
(i recommend using 9600 baud, as an unaccelerated gs dropped chars
at 19.2). use whatever comm software you like (should support
vt100 emulation) to connect over the cable as a null modem.
it should work.
