Background:
I have a IIgs ROM 1.
I have had Program Writer 1.0 and associated docs for a number of
years. This year, at kfest, Scranton/Quality passed out copies of
version 2.1 (without docs). When a fellow club member asked me to
see if I could make his BASIC based ProDOS DB program installable
on a HD I decided to get out PW and its docs since it had been
years since I'd done any meaningful BASIC programming.
I tried various commands with great success until I came upon the
oa-F/R (Find/Replace) couplet (PW uses A to mean oa). In
particular, the FIND CONTROL COMMANDS on page 13 where a number
of control character modifiers are documented. I can't get any of
them to work (same results with PW V1.0 and V2.1). In the
following the carat (^) stands for the
Control key. The next two items are from the docs.
1. ctrl-D {Digit} Will match any single digit (0-9). Users of a
][ or ][+ will need to use the A-O override command to enter
a control D.
2. A^D% will find A1% or A7% but not AB% or Ax%
For this (and other oa-F modifiers), I've tried entering the
control character directly (it appears in inverse on the screen)
and entering it via an A-O (which also appears on the screen as
in inverse). The problem is, the program never finds a match even
though a match is one character in front of the cursor.
I "think" these modifiers used to work when I had a //e.
Any help appreciated,
