GS battery followup

Still in quest of a drop-in solution to the GS battery situation, I've
discovered that Radio Shack can special-order a 1/2AA size battery
holder for $1.13 plus a buck postage <snicker>.  Soon as I get mine,
which will be in a week or two, I'll report on the matter.

Thank you to those who emailed/posted the Soft Solutions and Nite Owl
battery replacement info.  I'm trying to provide yet another option. :)
