What you learned in grade school and what happens in the real world are
two totally different things.  You have obviously never involved yourself
in any civil or criminal litigation, or you wouldn't make ignorant
statements like the above.  Its not your fault, before I became
"enlightened" I thought just like you.  You just need to discard your
naive notions of the law amd replace them with reality.

Also, the guy's been practicing law for 15 years.  I hold his opinion
in higher regard than your simpleton statements about copyright law.
